A Thanksgiving Dinner tonight

which will probably mean turkey overload and too much red wine. Hey! Did I suggest that that was, in any way, a bad thing? I have organised a week's holiday for next month and that should coincide with another little photo project- looking forward to that very much.
Bundy, Roy?

Well, the Poms are rubbish

but at the moment the Australians are even worse :-( After hearing bits and pieces from the first two days of the fifth Test it is hard not to start looking for that raindance again.
I had an enjoyable meeting with the lads on Thursday evening- I think that we have come up with a good plan for our next Cook Club meeting (one way or another, we will have a good time). Chef Giorgio was out of the country and couldn't join us but I feel sure that he would agree with our decisions and it will be good to catch up with him.
After being very tired on Friday night, I am up early and ready to attack the weekend. Gentle rain at the moment, which makes a nice noise on our roof and windows and will help to build an appetite for Schuppi's zopf!

I have been having a sleep nightmare

over the last few nights and haven't had a proper sleep since Saturday. I don't know if I am burning any more calories because of it, however I can't imagine that it is doing me too much good. I had a quick coffee in town this evening and returned some CDs that I had been lent but sadly afterwards I was too tired to spend any meaningful time in the gym.
Since arriving home I have been running around getting organised for a trip to London, synching some new music to my iPod and getting the washing machine going again. Fingers crossed that in an hour or so I will be in the mood to hit the feathers for a good night's sleep.
Not too much to report at the moment- at least the first few days of the month have been more positive than February as far as business is concerned (which is a good thing) and the days keep getting longer! Don't get me wrong: I do enjoy winter, but after a certain amount of cold weather and long, dark nights it is time for the arrival of spring.
Look out Singapore!

It has been a good weekend

and I am sitting here on Sunday evening gathering my thoughts and preparing for the week ahead. I guess that it will hold a lot of the same stuff- and hopefully will be enjoyable. Managed to finish the old month off in style with a beautiful sunny day and a visit to the Chief in the evening. Always a good way to round out a Saturday in the city.
Word from Oz is that Brian's birthday party was enjoyable and it was good to speak with him yesterday. Happy Birthday again Brian- not every day that someone turns 80. Hope that things keep going along nicely in that part of the world and that the bushfires that have caused death and destruction don't come back to visit.
March is a new month- good luck out there!

It has been a tiring week

and after last night's drinks I will be off to bed quite early this evening. We have some Australian visitors in town at the moment and Catherine spent the day in Luzern with them today- tomorrow they are off to Zermatt. I hope that the sky is clear and that the sun is shining down there as it would be a shame to travel so far and not get to see the Matterhorn.
I'm starting to get back into the Christmas spirit..... it will be nice to have this coming Monday to do some shopping and sort a few things out and then really cruise into the holiday long weekends. We will be catching up with friends and taking it pretty easy, but if the weather is nice we may even get the snowshoes out and go for a trip to the hills.
The Chief has invited us to an end of year party at the restaurant Okara tomorrow evening. Catherine won't be able to attend as she will be travelling so I guess that I will have to eat her share of the sushi as well :-) I really should take my camera along and try to get some pictures- will see how I feel about that idea in the morning.

Thanks to Enzo and Cornelia for a great evening

we really enjoyed helping to drink the 5 Litre bottle of Austrian red wine and the food and company were terrific as well. Even though one would hope to have a good night's sleep after that, I still couldn't manage it and was up in the middle of the night again..... hopefully tonight will be another story.
I was in the gym again today and am starting to get back into the training routine- it is certainly one of the things that I plan to do this week along with a quick visit to Lugano and taking some photos. Yesterday I even took the radical step of reserving a bike for the upcoming 6-hour spinning marathon at our gym- at least I will have some help and the motivation provided by that sort of group is fantastic.
Walter and Masi are arriving shortly to have dinner with us- a nice, relaxed Sunday evening and a good start to my week off. It looks as if it will stay cool this week but hopefully we won't have any more snow and I can get out with my camera without being concerned about falling over and smashing everything into a bunch of small pieces.
