The negatives look good but the film is still drying

I will go downstairs again shortly to check it out. It sounds as if Campbell is pretty chuffed with his new camera- just let me know if you need to know anything else, buddy!
Tomorrow should be a properly relaxed Sunday to follow on from a very relaxed Saturday. Isn't that what weekends are all about?

Tune of the Day:  Last Night A Cliche Saved My Life  by Coldcut and Grandmaster Flash

Friday 27 July 2012

I finished another roll of 120 film this evening

and hope to get it developed tomorrow. Having a quiet evening and we have been watching the storms roll in. Things haven't cooled down too much just yet, but there has been lightning and a little rain. More of that to come tomorrow.
It was good to have a chat on the phone with Bushpig Nolan yesterday. We decided that the last time we spoke was 18 years ago- he should be on the list for a catch-up beer next time I make it back to Sydney.

Tuesday 24 July 2012

Put your hand up if you are not having a birthday this month

as it certainly looks as if everyone is! We are having a guest for dinner tomorrow evening and we may even sit out on the balcony- now that is something special in the summer that never was.

Sunday 22 July 2012

(Police) Reports from the north tell me that

the Moose family are on fire and trying to make the streets Denmark and Sweden unsafe. Hope that you have all recovered from the football and enjoy the rest of your trip.

We had a great dinner last night- chicken in a lime, ginger and chilli marinade on the bbq, a bowl of rice and a salad of sprouts and coriander. Thanks Catherine!

Happy birthday to Mike, Ralf and Ernest Hemingway

I know that two of you will have a great day! Might have to open a bottle this evening to celebrate- any suggestions?
Came across this little gem during the week- it really does sum up the current feeling in London and the rest of the financial world pretty well. Shine on Bob, you crazy diamond.

Tune of the Day:  Girlfriend In A Coma     by The Smiths

Sunday 15 July 2012

We didn't get to see the storks today

as every time we thought that it would be a good idea, the rain started again. It can't be helped, but I hope that we are able to visit the nest again soon before they leave for the year.
I ordered a couple of t-shirts last week and I'm really excited about them arriving and have my fingers crossed that it is sooner rather than later...

Tune of the Day:  Hero Worship    by The B-52s

Saturday 14 July 2012

Today was a nice change....

I don't recall a single drop of rain! It was certainly pleasant considering that rain had been forecast.
I was out and took a few photos, Catherine cooked a bbq for dinner and we are taking it pretty easy. Getting ready for Sunday when we can do more of the same.

Tune of the Day: Heartbreaker   by Led Zeppelin

Wednesday 11 July 2012

Sushi was great and the beer was cold

so it was a most enjoyable evening with Ralf. Not a lot of news, but I'm looking forward to the weekend already and hoping to get out and about with the cameras. It might be nice to check up on our resident storks as well.

Tune of the Day: Trouble's Braids   by Tom Waits

Sunday 8 July 2012

F-I-L-M. It's what we had before digital and

guess what?! It's still here! Film is a lot of fun- it certainly makes me concentrate more on taking photos because there is no instant feedback (like with digital) and if you miss the shot, it may well be gone forever.

Tune of the Day: Rolling In The Deep  by Adele

Saturday 7 July 2012

There are plenty of people who

simply ride bicycles for the pleasure of doing so. I saw a bunch of them this afternoon and judging from the looks of their rides, it would be a fun way to get about.

Tune of the Day:  Papa Legba   by Talking Heads

Thursday 5 July 2012

My new lens seems to be very nice

and when I develop this roll of film, I will know for sure. The extra film back will come in handy for the occasions when I wish to have a roll of colour and b/w going at the same time or even fast and slow b/w films.

Tune of the Day: The Piano Has Been Drinking     by Tom Waits

Sunday 1 July 2012

I really enjoyed the apricots

at brunch this morning. The bread, cheese and cold meats weren't bad either.
