Sometimes you feel really busy but don't seem to get much done

and I guess that I am at the end of one of those weekends. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing and I am certainly looking forward to a couple of weeks off. The photography show on Friday night was a lot of fun and I'm excited about my upcoming exhibition.

Disappointed to see Bayern beat Dortmund last night in the Final of the Champion's League.... but in the end, it is very hard to beat MONEY.

After a busy month, I can head off this morning

without my camera or tripod. Oktoberfest was fun and a success as well (I believe) but today may just be a photo-free day. Looking forward to dinner this evening...

It is still cold

and I have only ventured out a couple of times to take a few photos. The snow makes things look a lot brighter and it has been nice to see the blue sky.

What do you have planned for this evening?

It is many years since I have wanted to head into town and mingle with the crowds on New Year's Eve- this evening will be no exception. If you go out all year, there is no need to mix with the amateurs and drive yourself nuts on NYE as well.
We have some very good friends coming to join us for dinner, we will drink a couple of nice bottles of wine and when I am finished, I can walk upstairs and go to bed. LUXURY!

Had a most enjoyable dinner with Enzo and Cornelia last night

and this morning headed into town and went for a swim. It was tough but I know that after a couple of months things will get easier. If I can keep up my other training in the meantime, this will help by working a different group of muscles and giving me another good cardio workout. Still a lot more to do before getting out on the snowshoes again......

Cadel in gold!

It was great to see the Australian cyclist Cadel Evans take the maillot jaune in the Tour de France this week. He is not blessed with such a strong team, but as a stong time triallist who can also climb we can only hope that he is good (and clever) enough to hang onto "the sack" until they arrive in Paris on Sunday week. There are a lot of miles to go and with a few tough stages in the Alps still ahead the race is very much open but Evans has as good a chance as anybody at the moment. Another Spaniard was dragged out of the race this morning after a positive EPO test- maybe it is something in the water down there (or perhaps even the jamon?!?).
We are looking forward to the weekend and entertaining again. The bbq will get another run on Saturday with a few guests coming around- fingers crossed that the sun comes out and we can sit outside and take it easy in the evening.
I am trying to take plenty of photos this month (although today wasn't terribly inspired as you can see) and my project is coming along nicely.
