Happy Birthday Gazza

I hope that you have had a great day and are not too jaded to enjoy the Melbourne Cup festivities on Tuesday. How was the wine?

Been busy digging boots and jackets out of the cupboards here- expecting maximum temperatures in the low single digits towards the end of the week. That combined with darkness around 5.30 in the evening tells me that Christmas is not too far away.

This big camera is lots of fun

and with some practice, I'm starting to like its output as well. I shot a roll of colour film on Saturday; collected and scanned the negatives yesterday. That was enough to inspire me to order another lens and an extra film back.......

For those of you who have visited the Beach Club

today was a special day. The Limmatschwim took place and the river through Zürich was covered in swimmers, inflatable plastic ducks and rescue boats. Catherine said that it was a lot of fun and with the sun shining and the temperature in the 30s, I would have to agree with her.

A very pleasant Saturday

was spent in the city and hanging out at home. I went for a walk with my camera and have been processing a few photos to get into the hang of it all. After almost 20 years I also had to take one of my favourite old lenses to the shop for maintenance. My 50/1.4 has a little oil on the aperture blades which means that it will not stop down properly at the moment of exposure and it is not really useable in this state. Fingers crossed that it will be back as good as new in a couple of weeks' time.

RBA, BOJ, ECB, FOMC, BOE, NFP.......

do you need any more on your first week back in the office? Gosh, with the US Elections thrown into the mix, there were enough excuses for people to choose from.....

A good thing that I took my camera and headed out today...

I managed to catch a few hours of bright daylight and took a few photos. Sitting here this evening watching a snowstorm outside and enjoying a glass of Talisker (after all, it was Burns Nite on Monday)

Somehow today has a very different feel to yesterday....

quite apart from the miserable weather, the change of clocks early this morning has made a huge difference! I am sitting here at 5 in the afternoon and it is looking very murky and starting to get dark outside already  :-( Luckily I was out early and went for a swim and another visit to the gym which helps to keep my comeback on the rails- I have my fingers crossed that I can continue with the training this week.
