It has been fun catching up with Stu and Kate

and I'm sure that they are as tired this evening as I am. Fingers crossed for a little sunshine tomorrow so that they can get out to see some mountains.
I have worn my new hat a few times and I really like it- when the weather improves, I will be able to wear my straw one as well!
May 1st coming up; which means rioting and action here in Zürich. It will be interesting to see what sort of trouble people are able to get themselves into this year.

Mercer Mercer. Mercer.

Yes, you heard me correctly! I have been lusting over this hat for quite a while and after trying to order one and getting horribly blanked by a NY hat store, I finally found a reliable seller and ordered again. Catherine collected it from the Post Office yesterday and I am really lovin' it.
Baselworld proper starts tomorrow- today was Press Day and even Zürich will be over-run with watch and jewellery people. Looking forward to catching up with one of the crowd on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Safe flight Stu!

Spent a little time today working on my first

photo exhibition. A friend who is a pro photographer also has a photography school and is going to show some of my stuff on the walls of his new premises when they are opened in late May. It should be a lot of fun and I'm pretty happy that this is going to happen. There will be a mix of photos but the largest percentage will be digital images and I think that they are a great set.

If I had to tell you myself how good dinner was....

you wouldn't believe me. Just ask Catherine.

Otherwise, it was a pretty steady Saturday- temperature hovering around 0° and snow on the ground. The joys of a Swiss spring  :-)

It has been a wonderful weekend

and with something to celebrate, we went to Solothurn yesterday for a lovely lunch and a walk around the city. Not having spent time there before, we were both impressed with what is a compact and attractive town.
Lunch was delicious and I managed to come home with a new Stetson straw hat. What's not to like?

Warmer and wet

well..... at least it is warmer! The daylight hours are getting longer and we are moving into spring- may even get up to 20° on the weekend.
I was out last weekend and took photos in Zürich, Schaffhausen and at the Rheinfall. Lots of fun to cart around the big, old-fashioned camera and I have enjoyed the fruits of my labours.

An enjoyable day of photography today

and it was nice to catch up with Matt Anderson and a bunch of other interesting people. We spent some time in Schaffhausen and at the Rheinfall and I am looking forward to getting my film developed over the next couple of days, scanning the negs and seeing what I have managed to find.
Not a lot of other news to report, apart from the fact that last night's dinner of pasta and beef ragu was world class! Thanks Curly xx

On-line shopping is great

but we really need to find a better way to transport stuff. At least when I buy music, I can download it and satisfy my need for instant gratification. It's driving me nuts waiting for my new hats in the post! :-)

What's up in your part of the world?
