G'day Grub

surprised to see you in Zürich today. Hope that the fund-raiser was a success  :-)

Rampensau has been postponed

which means that I will have Saturday to myself although I hope to get out and take some photos anyway. With unsettled weather on the way, it makes more sense to put off the bike day and hope for a sunny day on Whitsunday. In any case, Züritrails are having another trail-building weekend on the Uetliberg this weekend and that appeals to the same group.......

After another beautiful weekend

I am sitting here watching birds chasing insects outside of the window and wondering when I should head off to bed. It has been sunny and warm but by no means hot and that is about perfect for me.
We were invited to a most enjoyable bbq this evening- terrific company and nice food. Can you ask for more?

Burger and beer with the Cook Club gang

is a pretty good way to spend Thursday evening. It was also nice to be in a pub in the middle of the city in which the average age was comfortably above twenty, the food was good and the beer cold. We may have to go back   :-)

So, we're off to Germany

to have dinner with some friends this evening. Visiting a nice small city and looking forward to walking about this afternoon and taking some photos before going to dinner in a great old restaurant.

Two days in a row now

I have been caught in thunderstorms........  normally this would really annoy me, but we are in such need of rain that it really doesn't bother me in the least. Today I was out in the city and took a few photos- there would have been more but I needed to duck out of the storm.

We drank one of these recently

and there was certainly a reward for our patience. The wine was most enjoyable and had really benefited from a few years cellaring.
It has been raining this afternoon and after such a long dry period, it is certainly a sight for sore eyes. A lot of pollen and dust are being removed from rooves, balconies and everywhere else that they normally collect- great news for the hayfever sufferers.

Dunno about you, but I ate too much for dinner

and now I feel like doing nothing other than going for a lie down and a snooze. Pretty exciting Saturday evening, huh?

Thanks Rich- spinning some new tunes

and looking forward to Bettina and Manu coming to grab our green sofa tomorrow evening. That will certainly give us some extra space in the sitting room and get me in the bbq mood. Another sunny weekend coming up- out on the bike again?

Platzhirsch 2011

was a most enjoyable afternoon of bike sport and bbq in Zürich. Certainly much more pleasant than throwing paving stones and dodging teargas on May 1st.

It is Thursday and tomorrow is a rather large wedding

I'm not exactly sure what happened to my invitation but in the end, staying home this weekend is not such a bad thing. Looking forward to a bbq on Saturday evening and we might even sell the green sofa! :-)

How much steak is too much steak?

Seriously, when you admittedly have no idea how much food you need, should you really be out there purchasing for the bbq? BTW- this was fantastic!

The sun is still shining

and I am enjoying the long weekend; a big slab of beef that has been aged on the bone will be going on the BBQ tonight and a 2002 389 will be in my glass while I am cooking it. I have plenty on my plate for this coming week and I would really like to keep riding my bike as well - it does feel good after a break.
Happy Birthday to Chef Enzo for yesterday. I did miss you on the phone and I only hope that you were on the golf course enjoying yourself with your child bride.

Book- check. XO Sauce- check. Shoes-check.

It was a reasonably successful shopping trip to town this morning even if I do have to say so myself. Now it is time to relax, put the feet up and enjoy the rest of the Easter break. I like the shoes, so it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks......... correct?  :-)

It was great to see the Cook Club gang on Wednesday night

and many thanks to Capo Giorgio for the feast. We are planning all sorts of good things in the coming months- hopefully including a research tour to München.
Happy Easter to those of you who are interested in that sort of thing. For those of you who are not: hurry off to the office- it is only Friday   :-)

I really must get out and go for a ride on a bike

we can't rely on April weather to be this nice. The sun is shining and it does look very pleasant out there. Maybe just a snooze on the balcony......  :-)

Saturday morning already

where has my week of holiday gone?  :-)  The sun is shining and it might be time for a bbq again this evening. I might even get out and take some more photos today- I'm really enjoying the new camera and I need to test another couple of lenses out to see how they perform.
