The sun is still shining

and I am enjoying the long weekend; a big slab of beef that has been aged on the bone will be going on the BBQ tonight and a 2002 389 will be in my glass while I am cooking it. I have plenty on my plate for this coming week and I would really like to keep riding my bike as well - it does feel good after a break.
Happy Birthday to Chef Enzo for yesterday. I did miss you on the phone and I only hope that you were on the golf course enjoying yourself with your child bride.

Book- check. XO Sauce- check. Shoes-check.

It was a reasonably successful shopping trip to town this morning even if I do have to say so myself. Now it is time to relax, put the feet up and enjoy the rest of the Easter break. I like the shoes, so it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks......... correct?  :-)

It was great to see the Cook Club gang on Wednesday night

and many thanks to Capo Giorgio for the feast. We are planning all sorts of good things in the coming months- hopefully including a research tour to München.
Happy Easter to those of you who are interested in that sort of thing. For those of you who are not: hurry off to the office- it is only Friday   :-)

I really must get out and go for a ride on a bike

we can't rely on April weather to be this nice. The sun is shining and it does look very pleasant out there. Maybe just a snooze on the balcony......  :-)

Saturday morning already

where has my week of holiday gone?  :-)  The sun is shining and it might be time for a bbq again this evening. I might even get out and take some more photos today- I'm really enjoying the new camera and I need to test another couple of lenses out to see how they perform.

It must be about beer o'clock

oh, no sorry, I am in München.............. beer o'clock here is about 20 minutes after you get out of bed    :-)

Friday, 8 April 2011

It is Friday evening

and the beer tastes extra good. I'm already enjoying my week off

Thanks Patricia- it was a cool walk about

and I am pretty happy with some of the photos. Looking forward to having a look at your shots when I have a chance- and we really should go back to the Twist for a burger one of these days  :-)

Lamb on the bbq last night, a nice

bottle of Italian red and then watched Casino on a DVD. For some reason I had never seen the movie before and I really enjoyed it- Mr DeNiro's outfits are superb  :-)

Dinner tomorrow night with the lads will be fun

and a good way to start the weekend. Start early, play hard and get home at a reasonable hour is the plan........

Baselworld was fun and as expected

the most fun part was catching up with good people. It was pretty crowded and I guess that that is a good sign. Our dinner last night in Zürich was most enjoyable!

And I have collected my new camera :-)

it is truly a "great leap forward for mankind" and I hope to be able to keep pace with it in the years to come. Sure, my last digital SLR was a fairly basic one but this is a huge difference.
With summer time starting on the weekend, there should be plenty of opportunities to do  some shooting..........

Sunday, 20 March 2011

I bought a new shirt

and yes, lumberjack is in!  :-) It was a cool, miserable day in Zürich yesterday and I'm sure that there would have been plenty of snow falling in the hills- it felt appropriate to be buying a checked shirt.
The weekend has been enjoyable-a nice dinner last night and watched part of TheBBC's excellent "Life On Earth" on DVD. Today the sun is shining again. Can you ask for more?

Week one in Geneva seems to have gone smoothly enough

and there will be a flurry of activity before Catherine departs for her next week at the coalface. I am hoping to get a few things done in town tomorrow and then looking forward to lamb for dinner- a little salad, some Turkish bread, hummus and a bottle of shiraz. Any questions?

Sunday, 13 March 2011

I was in the gym today, then at a watch show and

then spent some time processing a few photos. It will be an early start in the morning with Catherine having to be up and out the door with the sparrows........

Well, someone has a new job

and will be busy commuting back and forth between here and Geneva for 7 weeks. It will be an interesting time.......

Saturday, 5 March 2011

My 50/1.4 is back home after a little maintenance

and I'm looking forward to testing it out tomorrow when I'm out with Barge to take a few photos. I managed to get a few things done in town this morning and we're having a nice steak from the bbq for dinner- sort of a little celebration   :-)
