Thanks Patricia- it was a cool walk about
and I am pretty happy with some of the photos. Looking forward to having a look at your shots when I have a chance- and we really should go back to the Twist for a burger one of these days :-)

Lamb on the bbq last night, a nice
bottle of Italian red and then watched Casino on a DVD. For some reason I had never seen the movie before and I really enjoyed it- Mr DeNiro's outfits are superb :-)

Dinner tomorrow night with the lads will be fun
and a good way to start the weekend. Start early, play hard and get home at a reasonable hour is the plan........

Baselworld was fun and as expected
the most fun part was catching up with good people. It was pretty crowded and I guess that that is a good sign. Our dinner last night in Zürich was most enjoyable!

And I have collected my new camera :-)
it is truly a "great leap forward for mankind" and I hope to be able to keep pace with it in the years to come. Sure, my last digital SLR was a fairly basic one but this is a huge difference. With summer time starting on the weekend, there should be plenty of opportunities to do some shooting..........

I bought a new shirt
and yes, lumberjack is in! :-) It was a cool, miserable day in Zürich yesterday and I'm sure that there would have been plenty of snow falling in the hills- it felt appropriate to be buying a checked shirt. The weekend has been enjoyable-a nice dinner last night and watched part of TheBBC's excellent "Life On Earth" on DVD. Today the sun is shining again. Can you ask for more?

Week one in Geneva seems to have gone smoothly enough
and there will be a flurry of activity before Catherine departs for her next week at the coalface. I am hoping to get a few things done in town tomorrow and then looking forward to lamb for dinner- a little salad, some Turkish bread, hummus and a bottle of shiraz. Any questions?

I was in the gym today, then at a watch show and
then spent some time processing a few photos. It will be an early start in the morning with Catherine having to be up and out the door with the sparrows........Tune of the Day: Mood Indigo by Charles Mingus

My 50/1.4 is back home after a little maintenance
and I'm looking forward to testing it out tomorrow when I'm out with Barge to take a few photos. I managed to get a few things done in town this morning and we're having a nice steak from the bbq for dinner- sort of a little celebration :-)Tune of the Day: Viva Las Vegas by The Dead Kennedys

Partial success today on the shopping front......
I did manage to find a new checked shirt but when I went to look for a pair of jeans, the store was so busy that there was a queue to get into the changing rooms.......At least my new boots were pretty comfortable :-)
BTW- there are easier (and better) ways to get a screenshot.

So I went and bought the ugly boots
well............ some people think that they are ugly, I tend to think that they are an acquired taste :-)

A very pleasant Saturday
was spent in the city and hanging out at home. I went for a walk with my camera and have been processing a few photos to get into the hang of it all. After almost 20 years I also had to take one of my favourite old lenses to the shop for maintenance. My 50/1.4 has a little oil on the aperture blades which means that it will not stop down properly at the moment of exposure and it is not really useable in this state. Fingers crossed that it will be back as good as new in a couple of weeks' time.

Well, Goodie survived his operation
and things in Singapore seem to be looking up. He did manage to get a nice little sunburn whilst out watching Kai's football match though :-)
My MacLife is coming along. I have managed to migrate most of my stuff to the new system and it looks like we are ok. I'm looking forward to seeing what a larger, faster system can do when it comes to processing photos etc.
