Well, I drank the Kool-Aid

and it doesn't taste too bad! I came home from town today with a new iMac and so far we understand each other pretty well   :-)

As soon as I work out how to share a photo, I will do so

Welcome to the weekend

it was nice to get up this morning when I wanted to and not because I needed to.......

Sunday, 23 January 2011

Well, the big news is

that my iPod made it all the way to "Z" and then onto the numbers...... ie I have played all of the tracks that are on there. Time to synch up some new purchases  :-)

Tune of the Day:   Till I Kissed You    by The Everly Brothers

Wednesday, 19 January 2011

It might sound a little weird, but I wanted to play all of the songs

on my iPod............. so I just started at "A" and let the thing run. It has been a couple of months now and I have heard a lot of stuff that I rarely (if ever) listen to, so I guess that it has been a success. With only another 500 or so songs to go, it won't be too long before I can get back to listening to whatever I like    :-)

Tune of the Day:   Cold, Cold Ground    by Tom Waits

Saturday, 15 January 2011

It was nice to have a little sleep in this morning

and I'm looking forward to a relaxed day. The sun is shining, so maybe a little exercise and some photography would be a good start to the weekend........

Saturday, 8 January 2011

The Photo Marathon today was 12 photos (not 10 as I thought)

and it was a lot of fun. We were blessed with clear skies after rain in the morning and a good crowd was in attendance. It will be interesting to check out all of the photos over the next few days....... I can't at the moment as it appears that the gonnado.com website is under stress with lots of people trying to upload pics

Happy New Year

Managed to get through the last few hours of 2010 without major incident and even 2011 has started smoothly. Went for a walk today and will try to get into the gym tomorrow- my regular month of abstinence is on in full force and I definitely need to lose some weight.............

Phew! Dodged a bullet there!?

Cooking Christmas lunch on the bbq might be something normal in Australia and other warmer parts of the world, but I was forced to do it yesterday when our oven went on the blink. Things turned out ok in the end, but I'm sure that it made for a funny sight- at least our guests were understanding.
Thanks to everyone for coming to visit- and thanks for a most enjoyable Christmas lunch!

It snowed!

Somehow a white Christmas morning does something for your appetite.......... Looking forward to lunch with our guests today and then taking it easy. Merry Christmas everybody!

Tune of the Day: If I Give My Soul     by Tom Jones

Saturday, 18 December 2010

We have had a few good snowfalls and things are white at the moment

but it looks as if we will have warmer weather this coming week and a very small chance of a White Christmas.  Something tells me that it will bucket with snow on December 26......

110 is not a good number

so, I really do need to get back into the swing of things at the gym and maybe start eating a little less.....

Tune of the Day: Saeta    by Miles Davis

Saturday, 11 December 2010

You know how it is.....

a little while back I said "yes" to an invitation for this evening. A friend is turning 40 and hosting a small get-together;  it should be fun, but I am at home, tired and would gladly make a pot of tea and grab a book. Getting old, I guess.

Tune of the Day: My Baby Just Cares For Me   by Nina Simone

Friday, 10 December 2010

Dinner on Wednesday night was good (even if I have to say so myself)

and it was nice to be able to sleep in a little and laze about the next day. Thursday was certainly better than today (Friday) when I didn't even make it out of the front door!

Tune of the Day:  Great Balls Of Fire  by  Jerry Lee Lewis

Wednesday, 8 December 2010

Osso Bucco in the oven

and the guests are not arriving for another hour and a half. Time to take a shower, open some wine and organise the music. Bon Appetit!

Tune of the Day:   Peace Frog   by The Doors

Sunday, 5 December 2010

It is still cold (not that that is a problem) and all about is white

but over the next couple of days things are going to warm up again and the snow will disappear. I only hope that it comes back for Christmas!
