it gave me the opportunity to sort out a problem with the telephone, sort out a small problem with the computer and get some shopping done. Now I have a bike ride and a bbq in front of me. That works!
it was really nothing, but to win the last match against the All Blacks today to take the Tri Nations Trophy was a big achievement. New Zillen have been the most feared and probably the best team in world rugby over the past 25 years and retain the favourite's role for the World Cup IMHO but strange things can happen when the real pressure is on.
Tune of the Day: Burning Down The House by Talking Heads
Sushi, beer, earthquake, English Fern, ParkMassaker, thunderstorms, Swiss National Bank, sleepless nights........... what more could you ask? I, for one, am looking forward to the weekend :-)
Tune of the Day: Get Some, Go Again by Henry Rollins Band
today was a special day. The Limmatschwim took place and the river through Zürich was covered in swimmers, inflatable plastic ducks and rescue boats. Catherine said that it was a lot of fun and with the sun shining and the temperature in the 30s, I would have to agree with her.
Tune of the Day: The Butcher and Fast Eddy by Rose Tattoo
and we really enjoyed our bbq evening with Patricia and Dan. The beer, wine and whisky were enjoyable and I believe that the food was OK as well. Once again, the Street Parade had to make do without me.....
.... somehow I don't think so. They may have to hold the Street Parade without me. I guess that this will mean that I can make some noise this evening whilst barbecueing and drinking beer. That suits!
Rumours, innuendo, falling stock price, Sarkozy in crisis meetings the whole day........ I think that all we need now is for the CEO/Chairman/CFO to stand up and say that the bank is solid and that they have no liquidity/capital problems.
The beat goes on.
Somehow I don't think that that comment will apply to my golf tomorrow, but it might work for the weather :-) I am very much looking forward to the day out and I'm busy washing Gore-Tex at the moment in anticipation. Hey! In the end...... golf balls are cheap.
Tune of the Day: Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart
and we managed to have a great meal from the barbecue, a couple of wonderful bottles of wine and very pleasant company. I'm not exactly sure how the menu fits into my diet, but heck, it's only once a year!
Catherine and I are a couple of Swiss-Australians and we have been living in Switzerland for quite a number of years now. We enjoy keeping in touch with our relatives and friends in different parts of the world as well as getting on with our lives here. Good food and drink, the outdoors, music and reading are some of our common interests- individually we have plenty more. Please feel free to drop us a line and let us know what you think about this little publishing effort. Thanks for the visit.
