Dinner was fantastic last night

and I'm sure that our guest enjoyed himself. Catherine did a variation on Bo Ssam which we gobbled up at a great pace.
Woke up to find snow on the rooves again this morning- it has warmed somewhat now and is raining (which is even less pleasant than the constant snow) but I have my fingers crossed that I can get out later to take a few photos.
Change of clocks to Summer Time this evening will mean that we will then have some useful daylight hours in the evening to partake of. Bring it on!

Another movie night and we have

been catching up on come classic stuff. Popeye Doyle last night and then Llewellyn Moss this evening made for some action-packed viewing. The weekend has been pretty steady- I managed to grab a few photos and generally took it easy.
The pasta and Entity Shiraz combination last night will certainly take some beating!

Another day, a new season

With the sun crossing the equator today, we have the start of spring in the north. Today was warm-ish and fairly dry and I have certainly noticed the daylight hours stretching out. With daylight saving time starting at Easter, we will be on the road to summer.
It must be time to buy a new straw hat :-)

Contrast, you ask?

I was in the city yesterday and wandered about shooting a roll of Kodak Tri-X in 135 Format. The point of my exercise was to find and try to shoot plenty of high-contrast images to test a few ideas out. After scanning the negatives this morning, I can say that I am happy with the way that the photos have turned out and I have learnt a couple of things as well.
Catherine's turn in the kitchen this evening- dinner was great and she also made the same wine choice as I had made the night before. Entity 2008 is to be recommended!

The pasta was good, the company was absent

but the wine was magnificent. Saturday nights home alone are not such a bad thing, after all! My negatives should be dry by now and will be scanned tomorrow and if the weather plays along in the morning, we will try to get out for a walk and some fresh air.

Cook Club was a lot of fun

and I believe that the ladies were suitably impressed with our efforts in the kitchen. I enjoyed the process, the wine, the company and finally sitting at the table and dining as a group. Does it get any better than that?

Saturday 9 March 2013

It wasn't quite pea and ham with John Riddoch

but my breakfast was tasty nonetheless :-) Hope that the Gobsmackers enjoyed a little winter feeling last evening and that the rest of the weekend is good.
We have the return of Cook Club this evening with the guys taking at turn at the stove and I'm really looking forward to it. I hope to be able to capture a few photos if I can find time between cooking up a storm, diving in the hot-tub and having a drink.

Not a hugely productive

Sunday, but we at least managed to get a couple of things done, went for a walk, had a nice dinner and watched a movie. I'm hearing that it is even going to be warmer this coming week. Look out!

Saturday 2 March 2013

Dinner was good and I enjoyed something of a sleep-in

this morning- after all, it is not that often that the Black Prince comes to town! The rest of the day was pretty relaxed and I will be in bed early this evening.
We hope to get out for a nice, long walk tomorrow and I will endeavour to take a camera along.
