Sunday 29 January 2012

It has been a relaxed Sunday

and I have signed up for another 1 week Photo Challenge with the crew from Nikon Cafe. With the short days, that will certainly keep me busy until next Sunday!
I'm still not sure if we are going to have a proper winter here...... there is a rumour that it will be somewhat cooler this coming week- but I will believe that when I feel it.

Bumped into a buddy in town today

took some photos, did a bit of shopping and managed to get home dry. Can't complain about that on a day which was meant to be miserable.
Didn't make it to the PhotoMarathon..... but I have moved one step closer to developing my own black and white films.

Waiting on the postman can be a pain in the butt

but waiting on my new scanner might just be worse. If everything turns out perfectly, I will have my developing gear and my scanner here in time to try things out on Sunday. Fingers crossed!

I might try to get out and take a few more photos.

I am looking forward to shooting some black and white

after finding out that my new film camera works properly. Now that will be a step backwards.  :-)

The sun was shining and Winterthur

was on it's best behaviour today. I managed to take a few photos and have a look about.

I went to the show today

and it was most enjoyable. It was nice to be there before the crowds really built up, the photos were terrific and I even got my hands on a prototype of the D4. A very serious piece of machinery!

Saturday 7 January 2012

That fits the definition of "lazy Saturday"

get out of bed, have breakfast, head into town to get a couple of things done, lunch, take a few photos, come back home, process photos, drink cup of tea, snooze.....

I guess that the new dream expression is D4.

Nikon have released details of their new Professional super camera and will, no doubt, be trying to get them into the hands of the super-stars in time for the Olympics in London. This new machine looks as if it will do everything apart from making dinner reservations and I am looking forward to getting my hands on one down the road a little.
I'm still very, very happy with my D700 and really enjoy using it but I am fascinated to see what the Pros can do with this new boy.

Happy New Year!

As one who has resolved to take more (and better) photos this year, I felt it necessary to get out and use my camera today. Zürich was pretty quiet, as you could imagine on a holiday, but that sometimes makes it easier to see things clearly.
