It's already Friday for some..

ie, Catherine is not going to the office tomorrow! It will be nice to come home and be able to have a bbq dinner and take it easy after work and then get ready for the weekend. I'm looking forward to taking lots of photos and trying to get some developing done as well.
Yes, I received another brick of film in the post this week   :-)

Had a great dinner last night

with a few watch buddies from different parts of the world. The food and drink in the Mövenpick are very good and the restaurant upstairs is a beautiful room.

Found a small shard of Thracian pottery

on one side  of which was a barely discernible rundown on the rules of Greco-Roman wrestling. The reverse was a small note: "He who lends to the Greeks will be shafted."
Good luck with the debt swap guys.

Venizelos says that "Europe is playing with fire"

I think that he and the rest of his Bubble mates should sharpen up and realize that they are playing for all of the marbles. If their cushy political jobs are worth more to them than the good of the country, then modern Greece is doomed to enter a world of pain where corruption is trumps. Wait! Maybe that's where they are already.....

Another winner, winner, Chicken Dinner!

The Chief outdid herself in the kitchen last evening and produced a chicken, mushroom and leek pie topped with potato, which was sensational. Perfect food for a cold Saturday evening.

Lots of the small lakes around here are frozen

but sadly the Zürisee remains very liquid. I was in the city today taking a few photos (yup it was cold) and was hoping to spot some ice....... but alas

We managed to sort out the scanner and

this is what a "hybrid" film/digital photo looks like. This is really going to be fun.

It is still cold

and I have only ventured out a couple of times to take a few photos. The snow makes things look a lot brighter and it has been nice to see the blue sky.

Don't let anyone ever tell you

that beer doesn't taste good! I had my first beer of the year this evening and together with a plate of sushi, it was a most enjoyable dinner. Thanks to The Chief and Patty!

Not only did the Moose family come to visit last summer....

they're now threatening to make Sweden unsafe this year as well. I don't know how much of this I can put up with.
Cold and windy outside- perfect evening to be in here and not doing very much at all.
